Is the Keto Diet Dangerous?

I have had a couple of people ask me if the keto diet or ketone supplements like Keto//OS and Keto Max is dangerous and the answer is that for most people it is very safe.

The Ketogenic Diet is a low carb, high fat, moderate protein diet that forces your body to switch to fat for fuel versus glucose. Fat is a superior fuel source and results in lower body fat percentage, increased energy, mood & focus and clearer skin among other benefits. Because most cancers feed on glucose it may also be the best anti-cancer diet. When your body is forced to use fat for fuel it starts to make something called ketones. Exogenous ketones like Keto OS and Keto Max are a supplemental form of the ketones that your body creates naturally, allowing you to experience the benefits of nutritional ketosis without having to be so strict with your daily diet. My customers report feeling an improved sense of overall wellness with ketone supplementation.

DIABETIC KETOACIDOSIS is something different and that is dangerous. Diabetic Ketoacidosis is usually triggered by an infection or illness which causes your ketone levels to spike, your blood glucose levels to spike and your blood ph to fall. Although it has the word ‘keto’ in it – it is not related to the ketogenic diet or exogenous ketone supplementation. This is similar to comparing a fireplace to a house fire.
